From the Awendaw-McClellanville Consolidated Fire District Facebook Page:

On 3/27/2024 at 1605 hours, Water Tender 906 was involved in a roll-over vehicle crash. This incident occurred on Sewee Road near Come-about-way, while returning from a training evolution and not on an emergency response. No other vehicles were involved.
The driver, Firefighter Kohen Etheredge, 33 of Awendaw, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash. He was transported to a local trauma center for testing and evaluation, and was released later in the evening.
The vehicle involved was a 2013 International WorkStar/E-One vacuum tender. It had a 500 gallons per minute pump, and carried 3500 gallons of water. It was a demonstrator unit, purchased by the department in 2015. It had 60k miles on it. The department uses two of these vacuum tenders, and has a third in reserve.
This crash is under investigation currently by the Charleston County Sheriff’s office Traffic Unit.
