SWITZERLAND FIRE OFFICER LODD – MEDICAL EMERGENCY WHILE DRIVING

According to the findings of the Basel-Landschaft police so far, a fire brigade officer drove his emergency vehicle from Rünenberg on a mission trip in the direction of Rümlingen. For reasons that have not yet been fully clarified, he collided with the right-hand side of the road on the sloping road, causing the vehicle to tip over onto the left-hand side. In the following left turn, the skidding vehicle put it back on its wheels and came to a standstill on the roadway.

After resuscitation by a police patrol and paramedics, the driver was flown to a hospital in a helicopter. Nevertheless, it was not possible to prevent the 53-year-old man from dying in hospital a short time later. There is a medical reason. The damaged vehicle had to be loaded and taken away by a towing company.
