POWER LINE FALLS ON LADDER TRUCK TRAPPING DRIVER – NEW YORK

While fighting a fire in Selkirk Sunday, a ladder truck driver was trapped after a power line fell on top of the vehicle.

This on 147 Rarick Road, where several fire departments arrived on the scene to a structure nearly fully involved. As they were working to get the hoses in place, a powerline fell on top of the ladder truck. The truck driver had to stay in the vehicle until National Grid came to turn off the power. He was unharmed.

Selkirk, Elsmere, Delmar FAST team, Onesthequaw, Coeymans Hollow and Coeymans were all on the scene. No one was hurt.

The fire chief says crews couldn’t enter the structure because of the extent of the fire. The building is considered a total loss, we’re working to find out how many people are without a home.
