LADDER TRUCK CATCHES FIRE INSIDE FIREHOUSE – NORTH CAROLINA

CONCORD, N.C. (WBTV) – A firetruck was damaged Thursday morning after it caught fire, officials said.

City officials said one of the trucks at Concord Fire Department’s Station 8 caught fire inside the building.

Crews were awakened by the sound of fire alarms going off within the station around 4:18 a.m.

After finding the bay filled with heavy smoke, firefighters were able to get to their firefighting gear, remove the truck from the station, pull the hose lines and immediately begin fire suppression.

A wrecker was spotted at the station parked in front of a ladder truck that had water all around it.

Old Charlotte Road Southwest was blocked outside the station while the incident was controlled.
