KNOXVILLE, TN LADDER GETS STUCK UNDER LOW BRIDGE

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Knoxville Fire Department firetruck suffered a “considerable amount of damage” after it struck an underpass under a train track on Thursday afternoon.

The collision happened around 4:45 p.m. at the Norfolk Southern underpass on Ogle Avenue as the truck was travelling from Maryville Pike.

Fire department spokesperson Mark Wilbanks said Quint 10 suffered a considerable amount of damage.

The underpass has a clearance of 9 feet, 1 inch, and Wilbanks said the truck is “considerably taller.”

No one was injured and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
