FIREFIGHTER KILLED, 2nd FLOWN OUT AFTER APPARATUS RESPONDING CRASH – SOUTH CAROLINA

We regret to pass on that a Firefighter was killed in the Line of Duty in an apparatus crash today in South Carolina. The crash happened around 1100 hours on Highway 72 in Clinton (Laurens County, NW of Columbia) while Firefighters were responding to a call. Initial reports are that the fire apparatus was involved in that crash with another vehicle. The driver of the civilian vehicle was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. City of Clinton FD Firefighter Michael “Mike Mike” Vinson was killed as a result of the crash. The second Firefighter who was in the truck was flown to Spartanburg Regional Hospital for treatment. Our condolences to all those affected. Rest In Peace.
