FIRE DEPARTMENT VEHICLE CRASH IN WEST VIRGINIA

A fire truck was involved in a two-vehicle crash late Sunday night while responding to a fire in Kanawha County, officials said.

The fire was reported about 9:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of East Dupont Avenue in the Shrewsbury area, according to Metro 911.

While responding to the blaze, a Glasgow Fire Department utility fire truck was involved in a T-bone style crash nearby, Cedar Grove firefighters said. A firefighter in the vehicle was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The road was closed in both areas while crews handled the situations. It has since reopened.
