FARGO (KVRR) — A Fargo Fire Department Firetruck was involved with a crash with a motorcycle at the intersection of 45th St. and 40th Ave. S in Fargo, resulting in serious injuries to the motorcyclist.

The crash occurred just before noon. The firetruck had its lights and sirens on, and was heading north on 45h St. on its way to a structure fire.

The motorcycle was also heading northbound. The collision occurred when the motorcyclist attempted to merge in front of the firetruck.

The motorcyclist, a 37-year-old man was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Sgt. Kristjan Helgoe says that there is a recording of the crash from a nearby traffic camera.

“As they proceeded through the intersection there was a collision between the motorcycle and the firetruck. And that’s when the bike got laid over and the motorcyclist got eject from the motorcycle and sustained injuries from that crash.”
