3 INJURED IN SOUTH CAROLINA APPARATUS CRASH

LIBERTY, S.C. — Three people were taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after a crash involving a fire truck and SUV in Liberty, South Carolina, according to the fire chief.

Chief Scott Smith with the Liberty Fire Department said the crash happened about 8:30 a.m. on Highway 178 at Davis Road.

Smith said as the fire truck approached the intersection on the way to get gas and SUV pulled out of David Road and collided with the fire truck.

He said one person in the SUV and two firefighters were taken to the hospital for observation.

Liberty Police are handling the investigation.
