Water Supply

We have: big pumpers, large diameter hose, large tankers with quick dumps and port-a-tanks. In spite of this technology we still have trouble moving water and buildings continue to burn down. This course will look at why this happens and how to improve operations. Other course's, provide training in a variety of areas covering basic firefighting skills and fire attack methods. Pump Operators course's teach the use of fire department pumping apparatus and hydraulics. Emergency Vehicle Response Water Supply Operations will involve figuring out how much water is needed, where to get it and how to move it long distances. We will look at local water supply requirements, identify and evaluate water sources, discuss various water transport methods, and practice some of these skills. This course is one of many that will add to and that will build on, skills that you already have. This 18 hour course presents some proven concepts in water supply for firefighting purpose and can serve as the basis for improved operations n your community. This program as well as all Emergency Vehicle Response programs, have been aligned with various state and national standards, as well as reflecting the requirements of the insurance industry.
