EMS CRASH IN NORTH CAROLINA INJURES BOTH EMT's
Saturday, March 6, 2010
-
An ambulance wrecked on N.C. Highway 751 in Durham County this morning, injuring the driver and an emergency medical technician.
The ambulance, which belongs to Johnston Ambulance Services, ended up on its side. Two off-duty Rockingham County EMS personnel passed by the wreck and got the driver and EMT out of the ambulance. They treated and stabilized the driver and EMT using equipment from the wrecked ambulance. The victims were transported to Duke Medical Center. There was not a patient in the ambulance when the wreck occurred. No other vehicles were involved in the wreck. The cause is still under investigation by the state Highway Patrol and it is unknown if they were "responding" or not.
